➡️ Overview
This guide applies to Rayobyte static proxy services, including:
- ✔ Dedicated Datacenter Proxies
- ✔ Semi-Dedicated Proxies
- ✔ ISP (Static Residential) Proxies
- ✔ Semi-ISP Proxies
It explains how to properly authorize and configure these proxies for use across different authentication methods and supported protocols.
We support the following authorization types for static proxies:
- ✔ IP Authorization
- ✔ Username/Password Authorization
- ✔ SOCKS Proxy (IP or Username/Password)
Note: Authorization methods for Residential and other Rotating proxy services are configured differently. Please refer to the related guide below if you are using those services.

➡️ IP Authorization
With IP Authorization, your proxies are accessible only from approved IP addresses. This method is best when using a static IP (e.g., office network or server).
✔ Steps
- ✔ Visit What’s My IP to find your current IP.
- ✔ Log in to your Proxy Dashboard.
- ✔ Under Authorization Type, select Via IP and HTTP.
- ✔ Enter your device IP under Authorized IPs and click Add IP.

Example: Adding an IP in the Rayobyte Dashboard
✔ Notes
- ✔ It can take up to 5 minutes for IPs to authorize.
- ✔ Default port:
3128 - ✔ Alternative port if blocked:
80
➡️ Username/Password Authorization
Use this method when you prefer credential-based access instead of IP whitelisting. This option is ideal for users with dynamic IPs or when using multiple devices.
✔ Steps
- ✔ Log in to your Proxy Dashboard.
- ✔ Under Authorization Type, select Username/Password and HTTP.
- ✔ Copy your assigned Username and Password credentials.

Example: Using Username/Password Authorization
✔ Notes
- ✔ Port:
4444(default) - ✔ Alternative port:
8000
➡️ SOCKS
SOCKS connectivity is supported for both IP and Username/Password authentication. This protocol is used by applications that require non-HTTP traffic (e.g., browsers, scrapers, or bots with SOCKS support).
✔ SOCKS via IP Authorization
- ✔ Whitelist your IP as described in the IP Authorization section above.
- ✔ Select SOCKS
- ✔ Enter your device IP under Authorized IPs and click Add IP
✔ SOCKS via Username/Password
- ✔ Make sure your authorization type is set to Username/Password in the dashboard.
- ✔ Select SOCKS
- ✔ Copy your assigned Username and Password credentials.
✔ Notes
- ✔ SOCKS IP Authorization Port:
1080 - ✔ SOCKS Username/Password Port:
1081 - ✔ Works with SOCKS5-compatible applications.
➡️ Troubleshooting Tips
- ✔ Wait up to 5 minutes for authorization changes to take effect.
- ✔ If your proxy doesn’t connect, test on an alternate port (e.g., 80 or 8000).
- ✔ Ensure your software supports the selected protocol (HTTP vs SOCKS).
