➡️ Overview

Rayobyte’s Residential Proxies support two secure authentication methods:

  • Username/Password Authentication – Allows login-based access from multiple locations.
  • IP Whitelisting – Grants access only from authorized IP addresses.

You can enable either method in your Rayobyte Dashboard.

➡️ Username/Password Authentication

✔ How to Enable Username/Password

  1. Log in to your Rayobyte dashboard.
  2. ✔ Navigate to Products > Residential and click Get Started from the left panel.
  3. ✔ Under Proxy Access Parameters, find your Proxy Host, Username, and Password.
  4. ✔ To update your proxy password, click "Change" (this does not affect your dashboard login password).

Proxy Format:

username123:[email protected]:8000
  • Pros:
    • Works from any IP address
    • Easy to switch devices and networks
  • Cons:
    • Requires storing credentials securely

➡️ IP Whitelisting (IP Authorization)

✔ How to Enable IP Authorization

  1. Log in to your Rayobyte dashboard.
  2. ✔ Navigate to Products > Residential and click Get Started.
  3. ✔ Under Proxy Access Parameters, toggle IP Authorization to the right.
  4. ✔ Click "Configure" and add your device’s IP address.
  5. ✔ Not sure of your IP? Check WhatIsMyIPAddress.

Proxy Format:

la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000

(Assuming you have whitelisted your IP 123.45.67.89.)

  • Pros:
    • More secure—no credentials required
    • Faster authentication process
  • Cons:
    • Requires a static or predictable IP address

➡️ Which One Should You Use?

  • Use Username/Password if you need access from multiple locations or have a dynamic IP.
  • Use IP Whitelisting if you want added security and always connect from a known IP.
