At Rayobyte, ethical sourcing and responsible use are fundamental to how we operate our Residential Proxy network.
Residential Proxies route traffic through real devices and internet connections, which makes transparency, consent, and responsible network usage especially important.
➡️ Ethical Sourcing
Are Rayobyte Residential Proxies ethically sourced?
Yes. Rayobyte Residential Proxies are sourced from real devices whose users have intentionally consented to participating in the network.
Participants are informed about how their connection may be used, can opt out of participation, and receive compensation or other benefits for contributing their bandwidth.
Where do Rayobyte Residential IPs come from?
Our Residential network is built through multiple sourcing methods, including direct participants, application partners, and carefully reviewed third-party providers.
Regardless of the sourcing method, our goal is the same: Residential bandwidth should come from users who understand and consent to participating in the network.
For a deeper look at our sourcing practices, visit Rayobyte's Residential Proxy Ethics page.
➡️ Responsible Use
What are Residential Proxies commonly used for?
Residential Proxies can support many legitimate data-driven workflows, such as market research, price monitoring, SEO and search monitoring, ad verification, website change detection, and other forms of web data collection.
However, having a legitimate use case does not automatically mean that every destination or activity is permitted. Customers are responsible for using the service in accordance with Rayobyte's policies and applicable requirements.
Are there restrictions on how Residential Proxies can be used?
Yes. Rayobyte restricts certain activities and destinations to help prevent fraud, unauthorized access, abuse, and other activity that could negatively affect users or the network.
For current restrictions and guidance, see Acceptable Use in Rayobyte Docs.
If you're unsure whether your intended use case is permitted, contact our Support team before getting started.
➡️ Protecting the Network
How does Rayobyte help prevent misuse?
Rayobyte uses account reviews, network monitoring, destination restrictions, and other safeguards to help protect the Residential Proxy network from abusive or unauthorized activity.
Some accounts or use cases may require additional review or Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. Depending on the circumstances, Rayobyte may also restrict access or take action when activity violates our policies.
Why are some websites restricted?
Certain destinations and categories may be restricted because they present a higher risk of fraud, unauthorized access, abuse, or other activity that could negatively affect customers and the Rayobyte network.
For information about restricted destinations and requesting access for a legitimate use case, see our Blocked Domains & Acceptable Use FAQ.
