➡️ SOCKS Protocol Support & Limitations

Rayobyte supports the SOCKS protocol on select static proxy services. SOCKS is commonly used for applications that require flexible traffic handling beyond standard HTTP/HTTPS requests.

➡️ Proxy Services That Support SOCKS

The following Rayobyte proxy services support SOCKS connectivity:

  • Dedicated Datacenter (DC) Proxies
  • Semi-Dedicated Proxies
  • ISP (Static Residential) Proxies
  • Semi-ISP Proxies

These proxy types allow SOCKS connections using the appropriate port, depending on your selected authorization method.

➡️ Important Limitations

While SOCKS is supported on the proxy types listed above, please note the following:

  • Inbound UDP traffic is not supported
  • ✔ SOCKS connections are limited to TCP-based traffic

As a result, applications that rely on real-time UDP traffic—such as video streaming, voice calls, gaming, or live media broadcasting—may not function as expected with our SOCKS-enabled proxies.

➡️ Services That Do Not Support SOCKS

The following Rayobyte proxy services currently do not support the SOCKS protocol:

  • ✖ Rotating Datacenter (DC) Proxies
  • ✖ Rotating ISP Proxies
  • ✖ Residential Proxies
  • ✖ Web Unblocker

These services are designed for HTTP/HTTPS traffic and managed rotation workflows.
