➡️ SOCKS Proxy Support at Rayobyte
This guide explains which Rayobyte proxy services support the SOCKS protocol, which ports to use, and why SOCKS is not available on residential and newer rotating proxy services.
➡️ Proxy Types That Support SOCKS
SOCKS connectivity is supported only on Rayobyte static proxy services, where IP ownership and session persistence are required.
- ✔ Dedicated Datacenter (DC) Proxies
- ✔ Semi-Dedicated Proxies
- ✔ Static ISP/Semi-ISP Proxies
✔ SOCKS Ports
- ✔ Port 1080 – SOCKS via IP authorization
- ✔ Port 1081 – SOCKS via Username/Password authorization
Be sure that the authorization method selected in your proxy dashboard matches the port configured in your browser or application.
➡️ Proxy Types That Do NOT Support SOCKS
The following Rayobyte services do not support SOCKS and operate exclusively over HTTP/HTTPS:
- ✖ Port-based Rotating Proxies
- ✖ Residential Proxies
- ✖ Rotating Datacenter (DC) Proxies
- ✖ Rotating ISP Proxies
- ✖ Web Unblocker
These services rely on large rotating IP pools, request-based rotation, and advanced traffic handling, which are not compatible with SOCKS-based connections.
➡️ Browser Configuration Guides
If you are using SOCKS with supported static proxies, the following browser guides may help:
For modern setups, we also recommend using proxy management extensions such as FoxyProxy or the Rayobyte Proxy Extension.
