➡️ Combining Targeting Parameters

You can combine country, region, city, ZIP or postal code, ASN, and Sticky Session parameters in the same Residential Proxy password.

Each additional targeting parameter narrows the number of matching residential IPs, so only include the filters your workflow requires.

Targeting parameters can generally be processed in different orders. For readability and easier troubleshooting, we recommend organizing them as follows:

PASSWORD-country-XX-region-REGION-city-CITY-zip-POSTALCODE-asn-AS12345-session-SESSIONID-duration-MINUTES

This order is a formatting recommendation and does not mean every parameter must be used.

The ZIP codes and ASNs shown above are examples and do not guarantee current availability.

➡️ Multi-Word Locations

Replace spaces with underscores in multi-word region, state, and city names.

  • -region-New_York
  • -city-Los_Angeles

➡️ Build Your Targeting Incrementally

When testing a new configuration, begin with the broadest required target and add parameters one at a time.

  1. Start with the required country.
  2. Add the region or ASN.
  3. Add the city or ZIP code if necessary.
  4. Add Sticky Session settings last.

When testing ASN availability, start with Country + ASN. After confirming that a matching exit is available, add any other targeting or session parameters you require.

This testing method makes it easier to identify which parameter is limiting availability or causing the connection to fail.
