➡️ Region and State Targeting Overview
Region or state targeting allows you to request a Residential Proxy exit IP from a particular state, province, or region within a selected country.
You can configure this feature through the Residential Proxy Dashboard or manually append the region parameter to your proxy password.
➡️ Configure Region Targeting in the Dashboard
- Log in to your Residential Proxy Dashboard.
- Click Get Started under Residential Proxies.
- Locate Geolocation Selection and click Update.
- Select your country and preferred region or state.
- Save your settings.
➡️ Manual Region Targeting
Append -region-REGIONNAME to your Residential Proxy password.
We recommend including the country parameter before the region:
USERNAME:PASSWORD-country-US-region-California@la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000For multi-word region or state names, replace spaces with underscores.
Example:
USERNAME:PASSWORD-country-US-region-New_York@la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000➡️ Availability
Region targeting narrows the available Residential Proxy pool compared with country-only targeting.
If a matching exit IP is not currently available, try the request again after a short delay or remove the region parameter and use country targeting only.
