➡️ ASN Targeting Overview

ASN targeting allows you to request a Residential Proxy exit IP belonging to a particular network or Internet Service Provider.

ASN stands for Autonomous System Number. Each ASN identifies a network that manages a group of IP addresses.

This advanced feature currently requires you to manually append an ASN parameter to your proxy password.

➡️ Configuration Format

Use the following parameter:

-asn-AS12345

Include the AS prefix before the ASN number.

United States example:

USERNAME:PASSWORD-country-US-asn-AS7922@la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000

United Kingdom example:

USERNAME:PASSWORD-country-GB-asn-AS5378@la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000

The ASNs above are examples and do not guarantee current availability.

➡️ Test with cURL

curl -x "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD-country-US-asn-AS7922@la.residential.rayobyte.com:8000" https://ipinfo.io/json

Replace USERNAME and PASSWORD with your own Residential Proxy credentials.

➡️ ASN Availability

ASN targeting is one of the most restrictive targeting options because the exit IP must belong to the requested network.

  • Some ASNs may have few or no active residential devices.
  • Cloud and datacenter ASNs may be difficult or impossible to match within a residential pool.
  • Availability may change as residential devices connect and disconnect.

➡️ Recommended Testing Method

Start by testing Country + ASN only:

PASSWORD-country-US-asn-AS7922

After confirming that a matching exit is available, add any additional region, city, ZIP, or session parameters you require.
